Ealhswith was born in 0852 in Mercia, England.1   Ealhswith's father was Ethelred (Mucil) Gainai and her mother was Eadburh Fadburn.  Her paternal grandparents were Aethelred Mucil of Mercia and Eadburga of Mercia; her maternal grandparents were King of Mercia Wigmund and Elfleda.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 53 on December 5th, 0905 in St. Mary's Abbey, Winchester, Dorset.2
