Count Siegmund of Leiningen

Siegmund was born about 1152 in Alt-Leiningen, Pfalz, Bavaria.¹ Siegmund's father was Count Emich of Leiningen III and his mother was Elisabeth von Eberstein. His paternal grandparents were Count Emich of Leiningen II and Alberat von Nassau. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Hermann, Eberhard, Friedrich, Adolf, Emich, Elisabeth, Alberat, Luitgard and Luitgard. He was the youngest of the ten children.
