Esiko was born about 1013 in Ballenstedt, Anhalt, Germany.1   Esiko's father was Adalbert von Ballenstedt and his mother was Countess Hidda of Lusatia. He had two sisters named Uta and Hazecha.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died in 1059.1
