Agnes was born in 1103.1   Agnes' father was Marquis of Turin, Count of Savoy Humbert de Maurienne II and her mother was Gisela of Burgundy de Macon.  Her paternal grandparents were Amadeus de Maurienne II and Jeanne of Geneva; her maternal grandparents were Count of Burgundy William (The Great) de Macon I and Stephenie Etienette de Longwy. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Hard Head, Amadeus, Ermentrude, Sibylle and Alix.  She was the youngest of the six children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Guillaume and Jeanne.  She died at the age of 80 in 1183.2
