Elizabeth was born about 1042 in Montlhéry, Seine-et-Oise, Île-de-France, France.1   Elizabeth's father was Signeur Gui Milo de Montlhery and her mother was Hilduin de Gometz.  Her paternal grandparents were Guy de Montlhery and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Guillaume de Gometz and <Unknown>. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Le Grand, The Red, Isabel, Alice and Melisende.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children.
