Seneschall Torquat Tertulle d'Anjou

Torquat was born about 0821 in Bourges, Berry, France.¹ Torquat's father was Count Hugh of Bourges II and his mother was Bava de Tours. His paternal grandparents were Count of Alsace Hugh (le Mefiant) de Bourges III and Countess of Tours Ava Eticondes. He had two brothers and a sister, named Eudes, Etienne and Adelaide. He was the oldest of the four children.
