Ptolemy VIII's father was Ptolemy VII Euergetes Physcon Egypt and his mother was Cleopatra III Euergetes Lagid. His paternal grandparents were Ptolemy Philometor VI Egypt and Cleopatra II Egypt; his maternal grandparents were Ptolemy Philometor VI Egypt and Cleopatra II Egypt.
