Robert, known as Furfan, was born in 1177 in Helmsly, Holderness, Yorkshire, England.1   Furfan's father was Everard De Ros and his mother was Roysia Trusbut.  His paternal grandparents were Robert de Ros and Sibly de Valognes; his maternal grandparents were William Trussebut and Aubrege de Harcourt.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 49 on December 23rd, 1226.1
