Adam was born about 1149 in Aldithley, Staffordshire, England.1   Adam's father was Liulf de Aldithley and his mother was Mabella de Stanley.  His paternal grandparents were Liulf de Aldithley and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Henry de Stanley and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and a sister, named William, Roger, Liulf and Margery.  He was the fourth oldest of the five children.  He died about 1208 in Heleigh Castle, Audley, Staffordshire, England.1
