DEATH OF MRS. E.A. BOYD

Aged Lady Who Made Her Home Here for a Long Time, Passed Away
at Watonga, Ok.

Word was received here today of the death last night of Mrs. E.A. Boyd, aged 75 years, and for a long time a resident of Bourbon county, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Hamilton, at Watonga, Ok., as the result of an illness with grippe and complications incident to old age. Although Mrs. Boyd had been in poor health all winter, she did not become seriously ill until last Friday, at which time her condition became so grave that it was seen that there was little chance for recovery. Mrs. Boyd was very well known here, having made her home in Bourbon county for a long time, and having for sometime made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Johnston of this city. She went to Watonga last winter for an extended visit. The deceased is survived by two daughters and one son--Mrs. Edward Hamilton of Watonga, Mrs. Mary Johnston of this city, and Philip Boyd of Hiattville. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Edward Madorie of Kansas City, Mo.

The body will arrive Sunday and the funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock from the Presbyterian church, Rev. Smith officiating. Interment will be made in the Centerville cemetery.

Reply to query dated January 12, 1971 received from Harry P. BOYD provides following:

Grandma Boyd came from Germany to St. Louis when 6 years old with her small sister due to the fact their parents were killed in a war in Germany and they came to relatives in St. Louis.
