Thomas Burnham (1619-1688) came from Norwich, County Norfolk, England with his brothers John and Robert and his mother's brother Capt. Robert Andrews in the 'Angel Gabriel' to Cape Cod, Mass in 1635. He settled at Ipswich, Mass in 1639, was a carpenter, surveyor in 1646, a proprietor in 1647, a freeman in 1653, a corporal in 1662, an ens in the militia co in 1675, a lieut in 1683, a signer of the Ipswich petition in 1681 and1682. He was a deputy to the General Court from Ipswich in 1683, 1684 and 1685, and he was a selectman. John and Thomas served in the Pequot War
