!younger brother of Simon, came to New ENgland as early as 1638; and perhaps at
the same time as his borther in 1634. First record is winter of 1638/9 when he
took the oath of allegiance, Scituate, 1 Feb. That plantation was chiefly
composed of men from Kent and their minister in the beginning was Rev. John
Lothrop, who had been settled at Egerton in Kent, and, with his church,
persecuted because they worshipped and lived in the manner taught in the New
Testament. Before the date at which we find George there, the minister and
part of the church had rem. to found a new town, Barnstable, and Rev. Charles
Chauncy was pastor at Scituate, one who taught that infants should be immersed
when christened.
In the Land Records of Maryland, 9 Jan 1652, George Willard demonds 200 acres
of land from himself and sons Daniel and Samuel. In the Probate Records,
Maryland in 1656, find George Willard deceased, is indebted by Account unto
William Stevens, the sum of 100 lbs. of Tobacco to be paid out of his estate.
In Yarmouth on Cape Cod, MA there appeared some years later 2 children of
this man, who were identified as cousins of the Concord Family.
