James Wright 
James was born in 1638 in Roxbury, MA.1 James' father was Samuel Wright and his mother was Margaret Cranbroke. His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Wright and Lydia James. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Samuel, Judah, Hannah, Esther Hester, Margaret, Lydia, Mary and Helped. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 85 in 1723 in Northampton, Hampshire Co., MA.1 General Notes

James Wright, son of Samuel Wright, Sr., took the oath of fidelity to the Commonwealth before the Court at Northampton 26 March 1661. In June 1662 he was granted 12 months in which to improve his house lot but in 1664 this grant was forfeited, probably because in the meantime it had been decided that he was to inherit his father's homestead. He was among the Northampton men who were engaged in the Falls Fight (Turners Falls) 19 May 1676.
The will of James Wright (Hampshire County Probate Record, Book 4, p. 83) was dated 5 May 1711 and probated 4 Dec. 1723. In it he mentions his sons Samuel, Preserved and Jonathan and daughters Helped and Hester, wife of Nathaniel Curtice.
