Bertha E. was born on June 4th, 1889 in Granville, VT.1 Bertha E.'s father was James E. Derby and her mother was Emma C. Rider. Her paternal grandparents were James Derby and Ameretta Lewis; her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Rider and Jane Austin. She had a brother and five sisters, named Edward E., Ida May, Cora Ann, Eunice, Daisey Ruth and Gertrude. She died due to Failing Health at the age of 89 on November 4th, 1978 in Chelsea, VT.1 General Notes
