Dorothy's father was Samual Buel Day and her mother was Elizabeth Rockwell. Her paternal grandparents were Jonathan Day and Hanna Page. She had two brothers and a sister, named Perley, Russel and Mary. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Roland A., Lester Merton, Ruth and Marguerite Gladys.-
