Ester was born in 1715 in Hatfield, MA.1   Ester's father was Ebenezer Bardwell and her mother was Mary Field.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Bardwell and Mary Gull. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Ebenezer, Joseph, Jonathan, Jonathan, Remembrance, Mary, Abigail, Ester and Hannah.1
