Bethel Banes 
Bethel was born in 1887 in Goodland, Indiana.1 Bethel's father was William Banes and her mother was Aurelia Isabelle Spinney. Her paternal grandparents were William Banes and Betsy Ann Mills; her maternal grandparents were Arthur J. Spinney and Susanna Boyd. She had a brother and two sisters, named Rexford, Myrtle Isabelle and Lela. She was the youngest of the four children.1 -
