3› Dorothea Randolph [1764.2.7] (c.1732- 2 Feb. 1794 ) married
John Woodson.
The births of nine children are in The Douglas Register.
Yet Rev. Douglas notes “of Col. Jo. Woodson’s family I have baptized
12 and married 4, he is now dead Feb. 15 ‘90.” They were the parents
of eleven known children. The missing child may have been Ann.
A very wealthy man, Woodson was a vestryman, magistrate, member
of the Virginia House of Burgesses (1788-81), and was sheriff
(1778-9) and county lieutenant (1779).
