Narrative
John was a Miller. When he was 21 he went to California and was there engaged in lumbering for five years. After his returen, he and his borther bought the old mills know as the McKenzie Mills at St. Canute. They sold it in 1886 for $14000.00 after that John was connected with the lumber firm of Owens,Lane & Boyd
