Alexandra "Alix" Prinzessin was born on December 1st, 1844 in Yellow Palace, Copenhagen, Denmark.  Alexandra "Alix" Prinzessin's father was Christian IX  Koenig von Daenemark and her mother was Luise von Hessen-Kassel.  Her paternal grandparents were Friedrich Wilhelm Duke von Holstein-Gluecksburg and Louise Caroline von Hessen-Kassel; her maternal grandparents were William Landgraf von Hessen-Kassel and Louise Charlotte Denemark. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Friedrich VIII Koenig, William George I of the Hellenes, Valdemar, Dagmar "Marie" and Thyra.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 80 on November 20th, 1925 in Sandringham, Norfolk, England.
