Cecil Curtis' father was Samuel Curtis Taber and his mother was Zona Elsia Back. His maternal grandparents were James McCoffin Back and Louise Hopkins. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Leo Raymond, Jesse James, Edward Wiliam, Nola Irene, LeFern, Mary Ethel, Fannie Lou and Maude Ruth.-
