Andrew was born about 1772.1   Andrew's father was Joseph Kennedy and his mother was Mary Dick Hinson.  His paternal grandfather was William Kennedy; his maternal grandfather was Samuel Dick Hinson. He had five brothers and a sister, named William Ebenezer, Josiah N., Joshua Franklin, Joseph Putashi, Maxfield and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.1
