Arad was born on August 5th, 1793 in Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire. Arad's father is Samuel Silver and his mother was Abigail Bushwell. His paternal grandfather is Samuel Silver and his paternal grandmother was Judith Colby. He had three brothers named Abid, Obed and James Buswell. He was the youngest of the four children.
