Marcus Morton was born on January 20th, 1842 in Holderness, Grafton County, New Hampshire. Marcus Morton's father was Horatio Wells Sargent and his mother was Mehetable Nutter. His paternal grandparents were John B. Sargent and Nancy Young Burgin. He had three brothers and two sisters, named James Marble, Charles Milton, George Marshall, Mary Elizabeth and Sarah E.. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 82 on December 8th, 1924 in Holderness, Grafton County, New Hampshire. He was buried on December 11th, 1924 in Green Grove Cemetery, Ashland, Grafton, Grafton County, New Hampshire.General Notes
