George Arthur was born on May 26th, 1863 in Lincoln, Addison County, Vermont. George Arthur's father was Daniel Huntington Sargent and his mother was Harriet N. Brooks. His paternal grandparents were Moses Sargent and Sally Durfee. He had two brothers and a sister, named Herbert Chase, Wallace Charles and Mary J.. He is the second oldest of the four children. He has three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Sewell John, Alson Moses, William and Lois.-
