Hamo was born in 1084 in Houghton, Lancashire, England. Hamo's father is Walter Herverus and his mother is Maud De Valois. His paternal grandfather was Herverus; his maternal grandfather is Theobald De Valois. He is an only child.General Notes

Note:
At his marriage to Maud, her father gave him the manor of Hocton, which became the family name. Later the name was changed to HOGHTON, And still later in America, it was changed to HOUGHTON. Eccleston, in the eastren part of Lancashire was also in the daughters dowry.
They have a son named William.
