Ernest Eugene was born on April 1st, 1910 in Flat Creek area of Stevens County, Washington. Ernest Eugene's father was Elisha Smith Miller and his mother was Lillian Sophia Sargent. His maternal grandparents are Gilbert Sargent and Frances A. Gilbert. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Harry Sargent, Albert, Robert John, Dorothy Anna Lora and Frances Aileen. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 53 on December 15th, 1963 in Anchorage, Alaska.-
