Ebenezer was born in 1834 in Chatfield, Crawford County, Ohio. Ebenezer's father was Peris Hillard and his mother was Clarrisa Kimball. His maternal grandparents were Daniel Kimball and Sarah. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Daniel, George Washington, William Henry, Nancy A., Rebecca, Rhoda Ann, Sarah and Charlotta. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 66 in 1900 in Hillsdale County, Michigan. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Ransom, Hillsdale County, Michigan.-
