He had six brothers and seven sisters, named Robert Louis, Godfrey William, Walter Garfield, John Eugene, Andreas, Marcus, Helen, Anna, Margaret Emma, Mariam Henrietta, Louisa Jane, Josephine G. and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 76 on February 17th, 1953 in Sparta, Monroe County, Wisconsin. He was buried in Big Creek Cemetary, Cashton, Monroe County, Wisconsin.-
