Orange Ferris was born in 1863 in Hillsdale County, Michigan. Orange Ferris' father was Elijah Seldon Field and his mother was Rhoda Ann Hillard. His maternal grandparents were Peris Hillard and Clarrisa Kimball. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Noah Seldon, Bryon E., James Bird, Elizabeth M., Lydia Cath, Sarah Ann and Clarissa E.. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 61 in 1924 in Hillsdale County, Michigan.-
