John was born about 1335 in Poynton, Cheshire, England. John's father is Lawrence De Warren and his mother is Margery Bulkeley. His paternal grandparents are John De Warren and Agnes De Wynnington; his maternal grandfather is Hugh Bulkeley. He was an only child. He died about 1386.General Notes

Note: Sir John, Knight of Poynton and Stockport, married in 1371 Margaret (d. April 6, 1418), daughter of Sir John De Stafford, Knight of Wickham - they had Nicholas De Warenne of Poynton and Stockport (1378-1413) who m. Argnes, dau. of Sir Richard De Wynnington, Knight of Wynnington, co. Chester.
