Robert II was born in 1003 in Falaise, Calvados, Normandy, France. Robert II's father was Richard De Normandy and his mother was Judith Bretagne. His paternal grandparents were Richard I De Normandy and Gunnora De Crepon; his maternal grandparents were Conan I De Rennes and Ermengarde Grisegonelle. He had two brothers and a sister, named Richard, Mauger and Judith Alice. He was the youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 31 on July 2nd, 1034 in Nicea, Turkey. throne, and received from the gratitude of that monarch, The Vexi

journey and the heat of the climate so impaired his health that he died
on the way home.
