James Madison was born on August 8th, 1828 in Chateaugy, Franklin, New York.  James Madison's father was Benjamin Moses Currier and his mother was Mary Anna Whipple.  His paternal grandparents were Sargent Currier and Anna Clements. He had five brothers and four sisters, named John W. (Harvey Jo), Alonzo (Alanson), George Washington, Oscar C. Jonah, Christopher Columbus, Cemantha Mariah, Hepsabeth Ann, Melissa Louisa and Syantha.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 62 on February 25th, 1891 in Utica, Washington.  He was buried in De Smet, South Dakota.


James Madison's family with Fannie M. Collins

‌James Madison and Fannie M. were married in a religious ceremony on July 20th, 1850 in Grundy  County Iowa.  They had seven sons and eight daughters, named George A., Horace A., Lennie, Lewis, Melvin Thaddeus, William H., Charles R., Estella E., Carrie Viola, Etta Edith Ellen, Louisa A., Mary M., Adelaide Alvira, Deleathe (Della) and Elizabeth.
