William Thurgood 
William's baptism took place on November 24th, 1752 in Widdington. William's father was William Thurgood and his mother was Elizabeth Pamphillon. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Thurgood and Mary Rookes; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Pamphillon and his maternal grandmother is Mary UNKNOWN. He had two brothers named James and Thomas. He had two half-sisters named Mary and Ruth. He died on May 10th, 1826 in Debden.General Notes
William Thurgood took the Debden Mill from Mr Knight in 17
80. It was burnt down and rebuilt in brick by Squire Chiswe
ll in 1796. As late as 1998 it was stillstanding as a priva
te residence
During this time there were food riots in Saffron Walden.
