Maud was born about 1192 in Of, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales and her baptism took place in September 1201.  Maud's father was William III Marshall and her mother was Isabel De Clare.  Her paternal grandfather was John Fitz Gilbert; her maternal grandparents were Richard Fitz Gilbert De Clare and Eva Mac Murrough. She had a sister named Eva.  She was the older of the two children.  She died on March 27th, 1248 in Tintern Abbey, Chapel Hill, Monmouthshire, England.  She was buried on April 4th, 1248 in Tintern Abbey, Chapel Hill, Monmouthshire, England.

‌Maud and Hugh were married in a religious ceremony in 1207 in Pembroke, , Pembrokeshire, Wales.  They had a daughter named Isabel.
