Elizabeth McMahon 
Elizabeth was born on October 20th, 1859 in Brooklyn, NY. Elizabeth's father was Patrick McMahon and her mother was Margaret Ward. Her maternal grandparents are Patrick Ward and Ann Gilligan. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Francis Edward, Patrick Henry, Edward, Margaret McMahon, Mary Gertrude and Mary. She died at the age of 64 on October 3rd, 1924 in Harrison, NY.General Notes
"Lizzie" was a nun --Sisters of Charity. Attended St. Paul's Academy in B
rooklyn, NY and Hochclaga Convent in Montreal Canada. She entered the Sis
ters of Charity on January 23, 1884 and took her vows in April, 1887 as Si
ster JaneFrances. Taught at St. Peter's School in Staten Island from 18
84 to 1885; then St. Peters' school, Barclay St., NYC from 1885 to 189
1. She taught at St. John's in White Plains from 1891 to 1904; in 1904 s
he was sent to St. Vincent's Retreatin Harrison, NY to act as bookkepper f
or the hospital(where she kept on eye onher brother's wife Annie who was i
nstitutionalized at St. Vincent's for alcoholism). Buried St. Mary's Ceme
tery, Port Chester, NY.
