Helena's father was Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfield and her mother was Victoria Hanover. Her maternal grandparents were Edward Hanover and Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfield. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Edward VII, Alfred, Arthur, Leopold, Victoria, Alice, Beatrice and Louise.-
