Gorm is credited with being the founder of Denmark as a nation, probably in the 930s.
He was evidently a loving husband...At Jelling, a stone carved in runes still stand in memory of his queen. It reads "King Gorm made this memorial to his wife Thyri, the adornment of Denmark."
