Ermesinde was born in Trier, Rhineland, Germany.  Ermesinde's father was Conrad I of Luxemburg and her mother was Clemence De Longwy.  Her paternal grandfather was Giselbert Von Salm; her maternal grandparents were Guillaume V D'Aigret De Aquitaine and Ermesinde De Lorraine. She had two brothers and a sister, named Guillaume of, Henri III of and Mathilda of. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Gerhard II, Yolande, Adelaide, Judith and Jutta.  She died on June 24th, 1143 in Luxembourg, Belgium.
