Aberdeen was born on October 26th, 1855 in Monroe, AL. Aberdeen's father was Washington Hamilton Aldridge and his mother was Julia Ann Hendrix. His paternal grandparents were Abner Aldridge and Rebecca House; his maternal grandfather was Reuben Hendrix. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William James, Charles Washington, Augustus Murat, Pinckney Beauregard, Dread Thomas, Anne Rebecca, California Adeline, Frances Harriet, Louisiana Bell and Susan Alice.
