Aelis' father was Comte de Soissons Gui de Vermandois * and her mother was Adelaide of Soissons.  Her maternal grandfather is Giselbert de Soissons *. She has a brother named Renaud. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Nocher and Adeld.
