Rheinwylydd verch Amlawdd was born about 0456 in Dumonia,Britain.  Rheinwylydd verch Amlawdd's father is Wledig(Duke) ap North Cymru Amlawdd ap Cynwal (The Imperator) and her mother is Gwen verch Cunedag.  Her paternal grandfather is Cynwal ap Ffrwdwr *. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Gwrfoddw ap Amlawdd, Cynwal Canhwch ap Amlawdd, Llygadrydd Emyr ap Amlawdd, Gwyar verch Amlawdd, Tywanwedd verch Amlawdd, Ygerna verch Amlawdd and Goleuddydd verch Amlawdd.  She is the fourth youngest of the eight children.
