Hywel ap Iestyn

Hywel ap Iestyn was born about 1080.  Hywel ap Iestyn's father was last Prince of Glamorgan, King of Morgannwg Iestyn ap Gwrgant and his mother is Gwenwyn verch Cyfan.  His paternal grandparents are Prince of Powys Gwrgant ap Ithel and Gwladus verch Ednowen Bendew *. He has three brothers and two sisters, named Rhodri ap Iestyn, Gruffydd ap Iestyn, Morgan Hir ap Iestyn, Sybil verch Iestyn and Gwenllian verch Iestyn.  He is the second youngest of the six children. He has eleven half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Mareddud ap Iestyn, Cynfrig ap Iestyn, Cadogan ap Iestyn, Rhywallon ap Iestyn, Rhudlan ap Iestyn, Yoreth ap Iestyn, Meurig ap Iestyn, Caradog ap Iestyn, Rhys ap Iestyn, Morgan ap Iestyn, Madog ap Iestyn, Ellen verch Iestyn and Nesta verch Iestyn.
