Matilda was born in October 1079 in Dunfermline,Scotland.  Matilda's father was King of Scots Malcom Canmore III and her mother was Queen of Scotland, Princess of England, Saint Margaret Atheling.  Her paternal grandparents are King of Scots Duncan * I and Queen of Scotland Fitzsiward *; her maternal grandparents are Edward *Atheling and Agatha *Hungary. She had six brothers and a sister, named Edward, Edmund, Ethelred, Edgar, Alexander, David and Mary.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 38 in May 1118 in Westminster Palace,London,England.  She was buried in June 1118 in Westminster Abbey,London,England.

‌Matilda and Henry were married in a religious ceremony on November 11th, 1100 in Westminster Abbey,London,England.  They had two daughters named Elizabeth and The Lady of the English.
