50th wedding anniversary announcement reads as follows:
Couple to be Honored at Golden Anniversary
The sons of Union veterans of the Civil War Camp 5 will hold a reception and oipen house from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Monday in the hal, 2832 W. Colorado ave. in observance of the Golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Tobias, 529 E. Bijou St.
Charlotte Strutz and Ernest Tobias were married on Christms Day, 1902 at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs, C. F. strutz, Atlantic, Ia. Mr. and Mrs. Tobias have one daughter, Mrs. Myrnie C. Johnson, of Pueblo.
The couple moved to Colorado Springs in June, 1909 and Mr. Tobias was employed by the fire Department from May 1, 1917, until Sept. 1. 1944, when he we retired.
Mr. Tobias is a member of Paso Lodge 13 A. F. and A. and Mrs. Tobieas is a member Centennial Chapter 58 Order of the Eastern Star. thay also are members of the Royal nighbor and Moose Ladies, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Ladies; Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors.
Mr. Tobias is a post commander of Camp 5 and a past commander of Department of Colorado and Wyoming. Mrs. Tobias is a past president of the local Auxiliary and past department president.
Aside from being th date of their wedding, Dec. 25th is also Mr. Tobias' 70th birthday.
