I have Elizabeth and her sisters being given land Jan. 7, 1716/17 by an In
denture from her father Richard Parker and his #1 wife Elizabeth. All thr
ee of the daus. were married by that date. Richard Jr was underage b
ut in Richard Parker Will 1726 gave the daus a little and the son Richa
rd Jr got the remaining estate. This Richard will 1726 was the son of D
r. Richard Parker of Charles City Co., and Henrico Co., Va. Dr. Parker h
ad md. Mary (?Owen?) , Wid of Nicholas Perkins. Dr. Parker was the s
on of James Parker Knt. and his wife Katherine Buller who traces back to t

Dr. Richard Parker lived first in Charles City Co and then Henrico C
o. He was md. to the Widow of Nicholas Perkins.
According to Dr Parkers bro. Rowland Rich'd ye 9th, Dr. of Physicke, we
nt into Virginy, married a Londoner & had issue 6 children. Liveth upon S'
nt James River in ye uplands of Virginy and hath been High Sherife of ye s
'd County. I have proved these statement absolute except questionable abo
ut all the 6 children. Dr. Parker md. Wid. of Nicholas Perkins. Nicholas a
nd Mary Perkins had their son Nicholas christened at Stepney St. Dunstan E
ngland. Dr. Parker raised him and two stepchildren of Nicholas Perki
ns by his #1 w. Elizabeth. Mary being #2. The two daus were Elizabeth a
nd Lydia. Richard s/o Richard 2nd is my line. (Richard Parker Will 1726 w
as bn. ca. 1600 and will P. 1782.)

According to the Virginia Historical Magazine V, 444, 445, Mr. Richard Par
ker patented 400 acres on the south branch of Nansemond River, Oct 5 165
4; 300 acres on the north side of James River in Henrico County, at the he
ad of Four Mile Creek, Oct 27; 314 acres in Surry County on Blackwater Swa
mp, Dec 20, 1670 (due to him in part for coming twice to Virginia); 100 ac
res in Nansernond at Hood's Neck, Feb 24, 1675-6. On April 23, 1681, Thoma
s, Richard, and Francis Parker, the three sons of Richard, deceased, we
re granted 1420 acres on the south branch of Nansemond River, at Parker
's Creek, left them by their father's will. At the end of the century the
se three brothers were living in Nansemond County. This Richard Parker h
ad the title of doctor as well.

The origin of this line of Parkers is from England. James Parker, son of W
ill Parker was from the Parish of Warleggon, near Bodmin Moor in
Cornwall. He married Katherine Buller, daughter of Sir Richard Buller on 3
1, December 1616 at Stephens by Saltash near Plymouth in Cornwall. James a
nd Katherine had 21 childten with the first five births recorded in St Ste
phens records and the last 16 being recorded in the parish of Warleggo
n. In 1673, Rowland Parker, the 20th child of James and Katherine, wro
te a letter which purpose was to provide a history of his family. This let
ter has been preserved and is located in an old commonplace book in Browsh
olme, the Parker ancestral home in Yorkshire. This letter has been print
ed in a NC Historical periodical and is quoted as written as follows:
The order of the births in Rowlands letter of his siblings doesnt total
ly agree with the recordings of the births in the parish records. His fir
st wife was Elizabeth Bailey a daughter of Captain Richard Baily of Lond
on amd Accomac Co VA. She must have died before he came to this countr
