Justa was born in 0343.1 Justa's father was Roman Emperor Valentinian and her mother was Justina. Her paternal grandfather was Gratianus De Panonia. She had a brother and five sisters, named Valentinian Ii Roman, Galla Valentiniana Of, Galla, Aelia Flavia, Galla and Valentina. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Gratian Av, Theodosius I, Galla, Grata and Justa Av.
