Maud was born in 1142 in Chagford, Okehampton, Devonshire, England.1 Maud's father was Baldwin De Reviers and her mother was Adeliza Lucia Debaalum. Her paternal grandparents were Richard De Reviers and Adelise Fitzosborne Peverell; her maternal grandfather was Hamelin Ballon. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Richard, Henry, William De Vernon, William, William, Hawise, Matilda, Eva and Alice. She is the fourth youngest of the ten children.-
