General Notes

Arrived in New England on the "Mary & John" in 1630, applied for
freemanship 19 Oct 1630 at age of 21.  Freeman 18 May 1631.  Returned to
England to marry Jane and 18 days later, 31 Mar 1633, sailed on "Recove
of London" from Weymouth with wife, brogher-in-law, John Hardey and
Jonathan Gillette, who also returned to New England with his new wife,
Mary Dolbiar.
Stephan was in Windsor in 1640.
From ANCIENT WINDSOR: Stephan Terry in 1637 at WIndsor CT. had a lot
granted him 14 1/2 rods wide.  He moved to the Hurd place and gave the
Homestead to his son John.  His social position was shown by having his
wife seats "in the row of long seats in the meeting house, paying 6
shillings, the largest price for them."
From CONNECTICUT COLONY RECORDS I:309: Stephan Terry was a member at
formation under Major John Mason on March 11, 1657/8 of the first Troop
of Horse organized in New England.
