His paternal grandfather was Thomas Stewkley and his paternal grandmother is Anne Wood; his maternal grandfather was Lewes Pollard. He had four brothers and six sisters, named George, Thomas, Hugh, Anias, Anne, Mary, Elizabeth, Audrie, Agnes and Catherine. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 52 on December 1st, 1581.-
